MU PHARMA Partnered with Dar Elshifah Medical Center, ASG Eye, and IMC Victoria Hospitals for Major Eye Medical Camp in Kansanga

On Sunday, October 11, 2026, MU PHARMA CO. SMC LTD joined forces with Dar Elshifah Medical Center, ASG Eye Hospital, and IMC Victoria Hospital to host a comprehensive community eye medical camp at Dar Elshifah Medical Center in Kansanga, Kampala.

The outreach initiative provided free eye care consultations, diagnostic screenings, and treatments to over 200 community members in a single day.

High Demand for Specialized Eye Care

During the camp, clinical teams diagnosed and managed a wide array of ocular conditions. The most prevalent issues observed among the patients included:

  • Allergic Conjunctivitis

  • Refractive Errors

  • Bacterial Conjunctivitis

To ensure patients received immediate and effective treatment, MU PHARMA donated substantial supplies of specialized eye care medications, including Latano, Hyfresh Gel, and Latanocom.

  • Clinical Collaboration: MU PHARMA representative Mr. John Manigaruhanga worked closely alongside Dr. Nahla, the leading Ophthalmologist at both Dar Elshifah Medical Center and IMC Victoria Hospital, to oversee drug dispensing and patient support.

  • Distinguished Leadership: The event was attended by MU PHARMA’s CEO, Mr. Mahmoud Elradi, alongside the event’s Guest of Honor, Al Haj Habib Kagimu, Honorary Consul at the Honorary Consulate of Malaysia in Uganda.

MU PHARMA CEO Hosts Managing Director of Equity Bank Uganda at Head Office

On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, MU PHARMA CEO Mr. Mahmoud Elradi welcomed Mr. Gift Shoko, the Managing Director of Equity Bank Uganda Limited, to the MU PHARMA head offices located on Bombo Road.

The executive visit served to celebrate and reinforce the strong, mutually beneficial partnership between the two institutions.

  • Exchange of Tokens of Appreciation: During the meeting, Mr. Gift Shoko presented Mr. Mahmoud Elradi with a gift bag as a gesture of appreciation for the ongoing collaboration between Equity Bank and MU PHARMA.

  • Recognition of Strategic Partnership: In turn, Mr. Mahmoud Elradi awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Gift Shoko, honoring Equity Bank Uganda Limited’s dedicated support and successful relationship with MU PHARMA.

  • Product Portfolio Tour: Mr. Mahmoud guided Mr. Shoko through an overview of MU PHARMA’s expanding product portfolio, showcasing specialized pharmaceutical solutions across the company’s dermatology and ophthalmology ranges.

On Friday, September 11th, 2026, Eddwaliro Kabaka Mutesa II—a hospital operated under the management of Mengo Hospital Kampala—held its inaugural medical camp in Mityana.

  • Direct Community Support: Medical representative Mr. John Manigaruhanga attended and represented MU PHARMA throughout the camp, directly assisting healthcare staff in serving the community.

The meeting took place in the department hall, providing a collaborative environment for interactive learning, professional discussion, and product knowledge sharing.

  • Interactive Product Application Discussions: Our representative, Mr. Manigaruhanga John, had an insightful exchange with Mr. Salim Kazibwe (OCO) regarding the practical and appropriate application methods for Hyfresh Gel. Ensuring proper application techniques helps maximize therapeutic outcomes and patient comfort.
  • Round Table Departmental Engagement: Mr. John Manigaruhanga also led a productive round-table discussion with members of the Ophthalmology Department. The team discussed key ophthalmic management strategies and reviewed MU PHARMA CO’s eye care portfolio.

On Monday, September 1st, 2026, MU PHARMA hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session at the Mbarara University Hospital Eye Department. The gathering brought together a multidisciplinary clinical team, including Ophthalmologists, Ophthalmology Clinical Officers, Residents, and Nurses.

The event served a dual purpose: advancing clinical eye care discussions and officially welcoming 13 new first-year Residents to the department.

  • Introduction of New Ophthalmic Products: MU PHARMA representative Mr. John Manigaruhanga presented the company’s latest eye care solutions—Hyfresh Gel, Croma, Latano, and Latanocom—highlighting their application in improving patient outcomes.

  • Clinical Insights on Glaucoma Management: Dr. Byamugisha Asaph, Head of Residents at the Mbarara Hospital Eye Department, delivered a presentation on current protocols and best practices in Glaucoma management.

  • Operational Collaboration: Mr. John Manigaruhanga engaged in strategic discussions with Sr. Immaculate Tumuhimbise, the department procurement officer, to streamline product accessibility for clinical care.

MU PHARMA celebrates new milestones for ophthalmologists from Mulago National Referral Eye Department.

MU Pharma Co. SMC Ltd was pleased to join the ophthalmology community at Eye Sante Hospital, Lumumba Avenue, Kampala, on 27 July 2026, for the launch of Hyfresh Gel, Latano, Latanocom, and Croma.

The event brought together members of the Mulago National Referral Hospital Eye Department and the MU Pharma team in a celebration of continued collaboration and innovation in eye care.

Among the memorable moments was the presentation of a certificate of congratulations to newly qualified ophthalmologist Dr. Mlaluko Rajab by Dr. Ssali Grace, Head of the Mulago National Referral Hospital Eye Department, in the presence of Dr. Deo Ssewankambo, Company Pharmacist at MU Pharma.

The event concluded with an evening dinner at Eye Sante Hospital, providing an opportunity for colleagues and partners to connect, celebrate, and strengthen relationships within Uganda’s growing ophthalmology community.
